I'm really curious as to why so much NHSx effort is channelled into AI, when we have so many other huge basic problems in NHS IT
* creaking lab messaging infrastructure
* no national clinical safety oversight
* poor data quality in GP records
* unstructured secondary care data https://twitter.com/NHSX/status/1359168951897489408

I would really welcome an NHSx Clinical Safety Unit. Not a 'Director of Mission X - Token Gesture Clinical Safety' role, but an actual unit with a team that can make sure that utterly obvious clinical safety gaffes committed in one software system are not repeated in others.
That alone will save more lives and money than any amount of swish AI dithering.
