Turkish choppers have airdropped hundreds of elite troops on top of Gara mountain to the west of Zap region in central northern Iraqi Kurdistan as Turkish defence minister announces a new ground military operation against the PKK.

Another important point: This Turkish military operation is much deeper into Iraqi Kurdistan than previous operations which where confined to the areas directly across the border.

This is an approximate 📍 , the mountain also covers some area further south.
It’s quite telling that lately every time Turkish officials meet with KRG & Iraqi officials, a new Turkish military movement happens in Iraqi Kurdistan. Turkish defence minister was in Iraq less than a month ago.
