As a Black woman who has worked in white-men dominated fields and industries, I have had many lifetimes of “lol you don’t understand this <<smirk>>” addressed to me. Consequently, I rarely talk publicly about things I don’t understand, other than to ask questions. 1/

Sadly, we are not likely, in my lifetime, to see the action I would want on the topics I care most about, so the things I discuss most offer rare opportunities for vindication.
