We need ambedkarite economists !

Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar was an economist. In fact, he was the first Indian to be awarded a PhD in economics & has extensively worked on the problems of the Indian economy. He earned a masters degree & a PhD in economics from the Columbia University,USA, in 1915 &1917 respectively

In the three years, he spent at the university, he completed 29 courses in economics, 11 in history, six in sociology, five in philosophy, four in anthropology, three in political science. Mainly all his courses were based on economics. Besides this,

he also took an elementary course in French and German, each. Then he pursued a doctorate in science from the London School of Economics (LSE), and which was awarded to him in 1923.

Dr Ambedkar had published three books in the field of economics dealing with the public finance and monetary economics: Problem of Rupee: Its Origin and Solution, Administration and Finance of the East India Company, and The Evolution of the Public Finance in British India.

Baba Saheb have wrote a whole alot of literature on economic problem of world & India, considering the social & hegemony issues of world & Aisa. But whenever we talk about economic problems in India, we talk either about capitalism or Marxism.

And Ambedkar shall not be only our alternative but a priority here, I would say.

A BAPSA activist once said, something like–why we need Marxism and communism, when we have our organic intellectual, when we have our organic framework, when we have our organic ideologies which can end brahminism and capitalism together.

When we bahujans, talk & appreciate the efforts of Baba Saheb, we shall also not waste his efforts & his literature. It's Important, we need it.
