Predictions for Natsuo Todoroki in #bnha301, a thread
-Natsuo is established to have a fight/fight response whenever he and Endeavor are in the same room. I wonder if this time will be different with Rei there.
Maybe he’ll resist the temptation to run (and maybe have a fight response instead) or maybe he’ll step out of the room and somebody will go after him and make sure he’s okay.
-It is already clear that he is not taking this well, and I expect we’ll have some significant elaboration on how he feels about the situation.
-I am increasingly worried that Endeavor will mention that Touya was responsible for sending Ending after them. Shouto also has more direct information on how Touya feels about him, but he might also choose to withhold mentioning that out of sympathy for an already unstable Natsu
I have already speculated that that was a traumatizing experience for Natsuo, and I think if he learns that he’s expendable to Touya it will break him.
Natsuo’s character is tied to Touya. He’s the first person to mention him by name, and Touya’s abuse, neglect, and ‘death’ is the root cause of Natsuo’s emotional trauma.
It would be interesting if he volunteers to somehow be part of the plan to ‘deal with’ Touya, whatever that means. I would love for him to have a bigger role in the story going forward.
More of Natsuo’s pov. We got a hint of it in the light novel but I think his perspective and flashbacks would really help to flesh out Touya’s narrative of abuse.
Either way I think Natsuo will be a central character in this chapter, and he does rather have a record of dominating every scene he appears in. I think he’ll share the stage with Rei as they discuss the situation.
-Natsuo is an emotionally driven character so it’s inevitable that he’ll start crying, and I would love to see him receive a hug from someone that isn’t Endeavor. Rei in particular, since he’s had a notable lack of parental affection in his life. (The hug from End. didn’t count).
