My opinion: everyone who is prescribed hormonal birth control should be screened for MTHFR. If you have it, you shouldn’t use hormonal birth control (increases clot risk). If you choose to anyway, at least take vitamin b6
If you want to know what happens if you have a pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis.. If you survive, you’re on blood thinners for life. It happens. It goes unreported. And many of those ppl could have been tested for MTHFR but there is no routine screening
Gynecology in a nutshell is keeping birth control a prescription drug while at the same time not doing the due diligence of screening for potentially life altering side effects
