Go and ask at any museum of dinosaurs, and they'll tell you themselves, they only display plaster casts of fossils, they claim the real ones are in the back rooms. But, in the backrooms, you'll only find more plaster casts stored in air sealed chambers to make them seem real.

These backroom casts only exists so they can take the occasional poindexter back, who's drank deeply from the cup of fucking loving science, in order to recruit them as a crusader against any dinopilled posters online.

Fact is archeology is one of the most gate kept Science fields. Even once you get your doctorate, you're either going to spend your life teaching, doing museum tours, or sucking the dick of every big deal archeologist to get even a shot at getting in on an important dig.
