I actually disagree with that quoted tweet though: that paragraph should not have been printed. The reviewer at Locus *snarked at the book* about not having read the first volume. She used that as an opportunity for snark, and as a *fundamental flaw* in the book.
I think that paragraph would need serious rewrites of tone to be printed as a useful review. Don't try to make not having read the first book a badge of honour in reviewing the second, you know?
