Stealing this gimmick from my Internet Pal @Athens_Grease
1. The Playoff, in its current form, has been bad for the sport in more ways than I can express in a single tweet. But short version, itâs been allowed to be all-consuming and thatâs not good.
2. The 2006 Rose Bowl was the best game ever played, and wonât be marched for a loooong time because so many conditions aligned absolutely perfectly.
3. Never say never, I guess, but Ndamukong Suh not winning the Heisman in 2009 made it apparent to me a defense-only player will probably never win the award.
4. North Dakota Stateâs current run is arguably the most impressive accomplishment in team sports history, and doesnât command as much appreciation in the moment as it probably should.
5. C.J. Spillerâs 2009 is the best âforgottenâ or under-appreciated individual season of my time following college football.
6. A majority of the time â hell, MOST of the time â coachesâ fourth-down decisions are not nearly as bad as Twitter makes them out to be (especially punts). SITO.
7. The two most ridiculous individual seasons ever both happened in 1988:
- Derrick Thomasâ 25 sacks
- Barry Sandersâ...everything
- Derrick Thomasâ 25 sacks
- Barry Sandersâ...everything
8. More programs, including some Power Fives, need to look into running the triple option
9. Larry Fitzgerald should have won the 2003 Heisman
10. Miami did not commit PI
11. Dec. 5, 1998, is the single nuttiest day (in my best @tonyschiavone24 voice) in the history of our sport.
(This would make a great retrospective feature, hint hint any accepting a freelance pitch)

12. UCF is right to claim the 2017 national championship, and Utah should have been every bit as aggressive in doing so in 2008.
13. A pre-Bowl Coalition postseason with a plus-one is the ideal title format to both preserve the sportâs history, which is part of its popularity, and to crown a champion without leaving dream matchups like Washington-Miami â91 on the table
14. 10 is the ideal number of members in an FBS conference, with 9 league games; 9 members/8 games for FCS.
15. Teaching broadcasts (i.e., the Championship Game Coaches Room) are the future for adults. Dedicated strategy analysis that break down plays as they happen, All-22 angles, etc. I would love a dedicated corner window to show how the line blocks, for example.
16. Desert Swarm â93 was the greatest defense of all-time
17. Charlie Wardâs importance to the evolution of QB play does not get nearly the love it deserves
18. The Rose Bowl Game is a borderline religious experience that must be protected at all costs. Sunset on the San Gabriel Mountains and the lights coming on to start the 4th quarter in a close game is indescribably magic.
19. While there have been some misfires, sideline swag in general is fun and the sorta thing the game needs. (I love @ElonFootballâs Get The Ball Wall)
20. The Heisman ceremony should be five players, every year. Itâs intended as a celebration of the game and spotlight on the best players, letâs maximize that hour.
