/ I'm finally getting around to trying out @Levels, and I love it so far. The golden age of observability in software has shown us the importance of continuous data collection for managing complex, critical systems. And what could be more critical than managing our health! 🧵
/ Sensor Application: 100% painless. Once it's in, you feel the sticker on your skin more than anything else. That said, my vasovagal response kicked in, and I nearly fainted from just the sight of the needle. Make sure you have a chair nearby if you're like me 🐓😅
/ Quirks: Lots of normal behaviors can throw off the results. I knew drinking alcohol or putting pressure on the sensor (rolling over in your sleep) could interfere, but didn't realize taking Tylenol or enjoying hot showers would, too 🍷🛌💊🚿
/ Hormones: Would love guidance around how to interpret results wrt the menstrual cycle. The length of the beta (4 weeks) doesn't leave room for apples-to-apples comparison. Best time to start? Delay the 2nd sensor? Expected delta b/t follicular and luteal levels? 🌒🗓
/ Gamification: The scores are oddly motivating. But I'm also not sure what exactly I'm aiming for other than learnings and improvement over time. So far the "normal" vs "optimal" values for CV are closest to what I'm looking for. Maybe percentiles compared w/ cohort? 🏅
/ Healthy Fats & Fiber: This is the most striking finding for me right now. I can eat a mountain of food with virtually no impact on my glucose as long as I stick to fish/veg/eggs/healthy fats. But as little as a teaspoon of honey shows up in the results immediately 🐟🥦🥬🥚🍯
/ Behavior Change: Levels feels a few orders of magnitude more actionable than an annual physical. I've already started changing how I eat and when I'm physically active, and it's immensely satisfying to experiment and get immediate feedback 🧪👩‍🍳🏃‍♀️
/ Gratitude: I'm insanely lucky to be able to identify and change "bad" habits before they inflict lasting damage. Our bodies don't come with manuals, but this is getting pretty close. I feel that every $ spent on @Levels now will pay a lifetime of quality-of-life dividends 🙏
