Clermont County, OH, has always been a GOP stronghold--and it still is. BUT within the county there have been some major shifts. The fast-growing western portion of the county along I-275 is shifting left, while the eastern, more rural portion is shifting right.

These maps show the 2016 to 2020 shift in the western part of the county. These are outer ring Cincinnati burbs & they are growing. Clermont grew by about 5% overall this decade, gaining in these blue areas, while also losing population in the eastern portion.

These burbs have shifted left slower than other Cincy burbs, but the trend is still there. If it continues, Clermont will become competitive. The biggest shift was in Miami Twp, where one precinct shifted 23 pts toward Biden.

The leftward shift in western Clermont is real, but slowed by the fact that these communities are whiter/less educated than other SWOH burbs. It has also been offset by GOP gains in the eastern part of the county. This will be a county to watch over the next few years.
