All of those are for-profit companies disrupting for-profit companies.

In theory, research universities, k-12, the US Dollar, the legal system, the political parties, etc...could be even easier. Yet they are taking longer. Do you have a good idea of when that disruption happens? https://twitter.com/balajis/status/1359238247390482434
If I have one frustration with my tech colleagues it is that they tend to see the world through the lens of tech businesses. Every new idea: a startup. Every artwork: content. Every composer or artist: a creator. Every discovery: IP.

So far this view hasn’t been successful.
In particular I am worried that research universities are not going to be replaced because Tech can’t see what was lost. Nor is sense making going to be easily measured by engagement. These had cultures and those culture were capable of competing with higher pay for top talent.
So there’s a huge world where @balajis is right, but tech hasn’t been nearly as successful replacing the biggest losses which had to do with culture which succumbed to economic squeeze. And this point can’t be made easily in what is left of Silicon Valley. At least I can’t do it.
