Summing up my poll about "do we need crypto art dealers".
(Doing this Twitter research bcuz I'm seeing a growing number of dealers want to come into this space. It's interesting & important to start the convo before it becomes a thing.)

☑️ Humans are all about convenience and we pay a premium for it. People want the art but don’t want to have to do the work or research to get it. Dealers can bridge the gap for lots of buyers. - @NftsyH
☑️ A growing need for people that can connect artists to the right collectors, lead discovery, and contextualize. - @pixlpa
☑️ Crypto art dealers help finance the entire ecosystem to a large extent. - @TheMCFaceman
☑️ We need more people doing word-of-mouth on-boarding of collectors. It builds a sense of growth in the community. - @It0bsession
☑️ Connections are key to a community. - @Natural_Warp
☑️ If it fosters the right evolution for the movement and community, yes. - @TheMarjan
✖️The point of crypto & decentralization is to get rid of middlemen. - @savslabtweets
✖️The old model of dealers is too centralized. - @pixlpa
✖️Dealers will divide the market putting a barrier between artist & collector. If dealers come into play, they need to stay in the 2ndary markets. - @It0bsession
✖️Only if they let the artists mint their works so they will be credited as creators on their arts forever, dealers that are stealing your name & royalties are BS, name in the description doesn’t have any legal value, you need to sign your art with your wallet. - @ArtPetio
✖️If it merely transfers existing dysfunctional patterns and other stifling orthodoxies from the contemporary art market into the crypto space, no. - @TheMarjan
✖️I think the figure of the dealer could be reinvented, made more versatile, and more adapted to the space and the possibilities... In the legacy way, I think it could be detrimental. - @julianbrangold
⭕️ Transparency is key. - @MattKaneArtist
⭕️ Maybe not dealers but curators who can foster connections between ‘laypeople’ and artists already making crypto/NFT art. As a newbie dipping their toes in, that’s a barrier for buyers and artists alike. - @jenjustjen3
⭕️ It’s inevitable but how do we adjust the current system to be a greater value. Value, and how it’s abstracted, in this new system is what’s most important. - @dalwolf
