God created us to love each other and love Him, then the devil tricked us into believing we were self-sufficient and didn’t need each other nor God, so God revealed how much we really do need each other through the law (commandments)...

...just so we could see how impossible it was to be self-sufficient without harming ourselves and everyone around us (sin = death because by law if you committed a crime you had to die, hence why sacrifices were made to God because men believed God operated like that too)

So when we received the law, people tried to follow it hoping it would get them closer to God, people tried to follow it just so they could be higher in society than others (Pharisees), people also just didn’t bother because they realised it was impossible

So then God sent Himself in human form so that we could see that perfection that we were created to be, and through that perfection we could see how our wrath towards each other kills us. That’s why the sacrifice had to be a bloodshed, to fulfil the law.

Jesus died so that we wouldn’t have to because essentially we’d all be dead. He died to demonstrate forgiveness through love. Because He is perfect and He died, we, the imperfect, don’t have to.

Through Christ we are made perfect, we are righteous and holy - we don’t identify as sinners. His grace covers ALL of our past, present & future sins.

So that’s why when we believe in Him and what He’s done for us, we won’t want to harm nor hate, but rather extend that love and live peacefully in His presence. This is a PRODUCT of salvation, not a way to maintain it.

God is love. Every time we experience love, we experience Him. We forgive because we have been forgiven. That’s all He wants for us & that’s the gospel
