During the filming of the #StoryofGod I met Chief Arvol Looking Horse, the Chosen One of the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota People and the keeper of his people’s Sacred Pipe.
I'll never forget meeting at Devils Tower as he shared the stories of his people and his journey to becoming the “Chosen One”.Talking to Chief Arvol I remembered feeling the weight he carried, and knowing him made me realize how important it is to have people like him among us.
“Mother Earth is a source of life and not a resource,” he said to me as he shared his responsibilities of respecting this land and uniting this global community.
I certainly hope that Chief Arvol is not the last of his kind and that his energy and passion for the land, our world, and our planet spreads to others.
