People say this, but I look at my own extended family... Me, my brothers, my cousins, my brother in law, my step mom’s kids... I am the only one who had more than one child.

And none of these people I can think of had crippling student loan debt. Most of them had none at all. https://twitter.com/amymastrine/status/1359180570937462791
The reason no one in my extended family has more than one kid is basically either

1. The woman was/is very into her career and either doesnt want kids.

Or

2. They put off having kids long enough to develop health problems that stopped them having more.

Usually a combo.
Young people today value their own contribution to the world, and feel that what matters is “making a difference.”

Someone like me, who just “made babies”, is basically a “bad person.”

You won’t change that by erasing student loan debt.
Older Kid says the young adults she sees either have no kids, or have one and make that part of “their brand.”

In a world where everyone sees themselves as a commodity, what good are children, who, after all, can totally throw your personal brand off course?
