Free play is dying - and it's one of the best things we can do for our physical and mental health. Here's why free play matters and what we can do to get some more of it:
Free play develops our emotional and social skills, builds out intellectual capabilities, relieves stress, and stimulates creativity.
Adults who engage in free play report better social relationships and feeling more engaged in their own life.
Free play can also make you better at work - people who play more are described as more innovative and as higher performers.
We would all benefit from a little more play in our lives - so try to get 30 minutes in this week. Host a virtual game night, play with your pets or kids, or just go run around outside with no goals in mind.
