[THREAD] On the most recent Ansar al-Tawhid video from #Idlib, focused on their snipers. This is quite similar to other groups, but is shorter and shows different equipment/style.

As is usual, the snipers use a combination of heavily modified Mosin-Nagant rifles, AM-50 pattern anti-materiel rifles, as well as single SVD spotted.

Sniping occurs using both conventional and thermal/night vision optics, in both rural and more urban areas. Seems that almost all rifles are effectively suppressed. Although AaT show off less footage than others, like TvJ, and appear less accurate, they are still dangerous.

The sniping using NV/Thermal optics is most notable; whilst AaT is a smaller group, these are regularly used to kill SAA/militia, but footage is not often seen. Note just how visible the targets are. Most likely, Pulsar optics are being used.

Snipers use a variety of camo patterns, and seem to choose sensible positions that blend in quite well. They can be observed using sniper-spotter teams (Spotter with camera, rangefinder, backup weapon etc- Zastava M92 seen here)
