The Bay Area-specific round of funding comes next. The highest ranked local projects that didn't make the state round include: 1) $8.5M San Pablo Avenue Complete Street/Bay Trail Gap Closure Project in Contra Costa County (Rodeo to Crockett) https://bikeeastbay.org/news/complete-streets-san-pablo-rodeo-crockett https://twitter.com/prinzrob/status/1358957938157625351
4) Tie between $7.9M for a Mission Blvd protected bike lanes in Ashland/Cherryland https://completestreets.mtc.ca.gov/projects/1098 , $2.1M for Anita Ave school safety in Castro Valley, https://completestreets.mtc.ca.gov/checklists/1281 , $1.4M for Washington Elem school safety in Berkeley, https://completestreets.mtc.ca.gov/projects/1110  ...
and $2.6M for a Willow Pass/Parkside/Salvio bikeway gap closure in Concord https://completestreets.mtc.ca.gov/projects/1119 . Further down the list are projects from Crockett (Carquinez MS trail), Oakland (Bancroft median path - planning only), Santa Rosa (Hwy 101 bike/walk overcrossing)...
Hayward (D St bike/walk upgrades at Fairview Elem), Emeryville (40th St cycletrack + bus lanes), and Moorland Ave upgrades near Santa Rosa. The top 3 or 4 projects above will probably receive funding, but with much more need than funding available, the rest are iffy.
50 more bike/walk project applications were submitted for this program from the Bay Area & 100s more from across the state, which will go unfunded. I hope @SecretaryPete @USDOT takes a close look to understand the need. CA is ready, we just need funding. https://catc.ca.gov/-/media/ctc-media/documents/programs/atp/2021/2021-atp-all-applications-by-score-a11y.pdf
