There's been some talk on here lately (and always) about the adjunctification of higher ed and the nearly complete hollowing out of TT jobs and who can do what. I maintain those with the most power need to lead. "But what can I/we do?" Support: @SFNDHE @AFTacademics @GradsRising
If you're tenured, and especially if you have a fancy endowed position at an Ivy (or equally elite/rich/powerful institution), there's plenty you can (and should) do. One of those things is loudly and actively support efforts and orgs like those linked above.
There are lots of reasons to do this sort of thing. I happen to believe it's just the right thing to do, and that a society (especially one as wealthy as ours) ought to support a good higher ed with nearly all jobs being TT.
But if you don't/can't care about that, consider the field(s) you have dedicated your lives to. Guess what happens when there are no more jobs in those fields? They disappear.
But even more directly for you, the attack on contingent faculty (even the existence of contingent faculty, and certainly the switch to contingent positions as the default) is a threat to your job security too. You think they won't come for you? They already are.
