1/: Spring is about to kick in. COVID-cases are naturally starting to drop, and there will be no longer grounds to maintain #restrictions. So the crisis protagonists are currently digging very deep in their bag of #tricks to find 'reasons' to conserve the status quo.

2/: #Seasonality of viral infections is a known mechanism. It has been described in thousands of research articles like the following one: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1198743X14610910

However, that knowledge is currently being ignored, because it obviously does not fit into the agenda.

3/: The following graph shows that #seasonality also applies to #coronaviruses. Cases usually start dropping between January and March and start rising between November and December. Key factors for this phenomenon are, among others, #humidity and #vitaminD blood serum levels.

4/: As it is hard to manipulate natural cycles, the crisis’ protagonists came up with the idea to bring mutants into play. 5/: One year ago, @c_drosten, asserted that we should expect maximum cases for summer 2020, which never happened (due to seasonality, right?). In January 2021 he again expressed the worst concerns for the upcoming summer with up to 100,000 daily cases in . (h/t @KilezMore)

6/: The dropping cases also seem to worry @Karl_Lauterbach. After confirming a doomsday scenario with his own calculation, he predicted that mutated coronaviruses will lead to an exponential growth in cases revoking the principle of seasonality. Excellent scientific skills, Karl!

7/: The likelihood that these 'TO THE MOON scenarios' will actually become a reality is low. And yet, politics will come up with reasons why to expand the restrictions. Most likely, they will say: “Now, we are close to zero and have the unique opportunity to achieve #Zer0Covid.”

8/: The significance of this point is that it gets tough for the general public to distinguish between science and pseudoscience. Media continuously demands to “follow the science”, but it is hard to have insights into possible conflicts of interest of the respective scientists.

9/: What is generally not advisable, is to trust scientists who are in line with the political elite or even add fuel to the fire to turn a smouldering fire into a large fire. Such large fires serve as an argument to implement further restrictions.

10/: The whole situation would be less concerning if there were media that would respect our fundamental rights. Instead, the influential German daily paper @SZ made anticonstitutional statements by demanding “to dare more dictatorship” and to "declare the state of emergency".

11/: We are currently on our way to global #Faucism as politics and media took control over a considerable amount of scientists. Meanwhile, renowned scholars such as John Ioannidis are being ignored or defamed.

12/: The concept of seasonality really is really not that difficult to understand. Dear virologists, media, and policymakers, please just give it a try. Solving this riddle is worth it before it’s too late. #UnbiasedScience
