Interviewed with an equity partner 1L year. “Adrian, you had the best interview and I love how you owned your GPA. Unfortunately these clerkship programs are all about metrics. You’re going to be a great lawyer though because of your ability to communicate”
Interviewed with the NFL Management counsel my 2L year “Adrian, I wish I could hire every former athlete who went to law school because I see the work you put into your studies after a not so great first year GPA”
Approached a gentleman who formed and sold the equivalent of Meyers Briggs for lawyers, and then started his own head hunting firm. Reached out to me and asked me to be his EA and offered to pay for my Bar exam. Loved that guy Fr.

The rest been history and a blur fr. I’m not sure why I shared all that other than to say, perception is not always reality. I’ve had some dark days wondering why I spent so much time and money for what I was doing/getting paid.
We may not always feel up to the challenge. We may not think we’re doing enough comparative to others. We may not know where our life is headed. But, we can be grateful, work hard, and hope for the best. And more times than not, that’s what you get.
