Lot of discussion lately about what will convince more smart ppl to move to WI and invest here. Some think lowering taxes is the key, but I think about why I stayed here, and it's been 100% about quality of life in Madison, and the university that drew me here in the first place.

The problem w focusing on tax as policy is that it's easy. It's digestible. It fails to ask the tough questions about what makes a place attractive for people w a lot of other great options. It's trying to copy Texas and Florida without the unique circumstances those states have.

Madison didn't get to where it is by taking a bipartisan approach. Madison doesn't care about being digestible to the GOP.

Case in point: it was the first city to decriminalize Cannabis in the whole country!

And I believe that energy is why Dane County is leading the state
