Exciting email in my inbox at 7:47 this morning (signed up in my dad's name as I'm still trying to get him an appointment).
Clicked on it just under 90 minutes later and got: "The http://Walgreens.com  you know and love will be unavailable temporarily"
I've tried a few browsers and get the same message. I'd hazard a guess the traffic caused the site to crash.
I'm sure others already know this, but when you call a local Walgreens store an automated message informs you you cannot make an appointment over the phone. @Walgreens any update on when your scheduling site might be up and running again?
Rite Aid's COVID-19 vaccine scheduling link takes you to this PDF, which states that appointments cannot be made by calling your local store. If you click on the link highlighted here it takes you to @HealthNYGov's vaccine website, which has no system for scheduling w/ @riteaid.
I've been checking @PriceChopper's vaccine website daily, which notes that the pharmacy team cannot schedule appointments. The website has links to schedule at nine possible sites, six of them local. Each of those links take me to @HealthNYGov's site and this message:
. @Hannaford's website shows five vaccine sites in the greater Capital Region. They warn: "If the online scheduler does not have an appointment available, please do not call the pharmacy. The scheduler updates in real time and reflects true appointment availability."
This is what I get when I click on @Hannaford's "Schedule Appointment" link and enter my dad's ZIP code:
. @ShopRiteStores & @WakefernFood website gives me the same message I got last week: "There are currently no new appointments available." As with many of the other sites, there is no pre-register/waitlist option.
As many of you know, @Walmart does not have an agreement in place to vaccinate in New York. Here they list the states where they are currently vaccinating, and where they expect to be vaccinating.
Those are the retail chains.

@HealthNYGov's signup site is still not showing any local vaccine availability. My dad has stated he'd rather not make the 3-4 hour drive to Potsdam for an appointment. I can't say I blame him.
One reason for the vaccine confusion is that many do not know who is offering vaccine. The state has not publicly released a list of vaccine recipients. But the Capital Region Vaccine Network has published a list of known local providers on its website: https://www.amc.edu/CapitalRegionVax/
You'll see on that website that there are several small independent pharmacies offering vaccine. @CapitalPharmacy is one of them. Their website allows you to pre-register to be notified when vaccine becomes available https://capitalregionalrx.com/vaccination/
Lindsay Drug Co. in Troy is another independent pharmacy offering vaccine, according to the regional vaccine network website. Their site ( http://lindsaydrug.com ) asks you to fill out a form to be notified when vaccine becomes available. I much prefer this to constant refreshing.
O'Brien Pharmacy in Ballston Spa has also received vaccine. Their website does not provide information about scheduling an appointment and it's likely they want to reserve supply for patients. I called last week and a nice woman said their waitlist is hundreds of people long.
The Capital Region Vaccine Network site also lists Stone's Pharmacy in Lake Luzerne as having vaccine. Their website scheduling link takes me to this @HealthNYGov page:
