Medieval ideas about women and sex? On *my* TL??? It's more likely than you'd think!!!
This is an almost perfect case study of internalised ideas about sex in women in that it classes women as a sort of malignant other who are attempting to sway the logical and focused man from his destiny as some sort of idealised patriarch.
Women (and sex with them) is treated as enervating. By socialising with and having sex with women men in turn become feminised and distracted from ... IDK rocking in this guy's case. It isn't that *he* sucks personally. Women did it to him. With sex.
Using this model, the ideal would be a stoic relationship to the world which focuses solely on being of benefit to whatever overarching social foundation that is. For Romans it is being a citizen. Medieval Europeans a good Christian. For this dude it is serving capitalism.
Women on the other hand are fundamentally incapable of being serious, or seriously contributing to society in a meaningful way. Instead, they are temptresses, hell bent on having sex with men and leeching away their manly essence and logic.
Anyway, *some of us* can date and also do important work. Some of us have also updated our conceptions about gender and sexuality since the year of our lord 1376. Try it sometime. You might grow as a person.
