IMO the British Basketball community are going to look back at this period of the next 5 yrs as being the catalyst to real positive changes for the culture & development of the sport. There’s a lot of people moving to make positive changes & we need to enhance/ capitalise of that
WHY: There’s an influx of content creation with podcasts, interviews, highlights, social media. There’s the Sky Sports Deal. There are investors. There’s more discussion around the sport on newer platforms that hit a younger demographic like TikTok.

There’s more British talent choosing to stay and play on home soil. (The pandemic helped) There’s more talent returning from the US looking to use the league as a springboard to play in Europe. There’s younger players getting more opportunities in domestic pro set ups.
Coaches are more interconnected than ever— focusing on growth through online CPD forums. And fans are going to be more excited to be able to return and watch games in person. The leagues have the added bonus of catching additional fans through new & developed streaming.
We need to lift the identity and profile of sport in this country together. We need to celebrate small wins and focus on collaboration over complaints!
