Twitter lets you befriend people through their ideas.
Yesterday, I had the privilege of speaking to @dbustac.
Daniel is a creatorpreneur and an awesome guy to talk to.
We talked about writing, building audience-first products, and embracing a process-driven approach to life.

He asked me how I first got into writing.
At first, I didn't really know how it all started.
I just know that I always have been fascinated by how much writing helps me express and structure my ideas, and how it allows me to share what I’ve learned with other people.

We both write online and approach it in a different way, but we realize that online writing isn’t an end in itself.
It’s a tool to grow your personal brand and find your voice.
We both rely on writing to build an audience and validate our ideas.

Our audience requires us to keep showing up and bringing our A-game.
It comes with an external responsibility, one that can be often overlooked as a solopreneur.

We discussed how the quality of the engagement outweighs the quantity a zillion times.

With building an audience, we allow ourselves to try many different things.
See what sticks and gets traction, or what doesn’t.
We practice an audience-first approach and we build products that suit the needs of our audience.

Whether that’s through writing, building no-code solutions, or offering help with digital marketing.
The opportunity to speak with our audience at any time is essential to our growth.

In a recent talk I had with @drojasug, we talked about the importance of a personal monopoly. He said that you don’t find a personal monopoly, but that a personal monopoly finds you.
Your own audience gives you instant feedback about the thing that should double down on.

For me, that’s building a personal branding by writing, and for @dbustac that’s the intersection of writing and no-code solutions.
Our personal monopoly isn't set in stone yet, but we know we're getting closer everyday.

Finally, we talked about goals and metrics.
A topic we were both on the end of the spectrum: Daniel likes to measure and keep track of his KPI’s, while I just have a rough idea where to go and give it a shot.

We agreed that having 90-day goals is a perfect way to measure progress. Long enough to make an impact, short enough to stay connected to the end goal.
Couple this with a set of daily habits and you’re set up for success.
