@BewickBM's talk on on facilitating students' sense of belonging is happening now in the School of Psychology!

Dr Bewick begins by explaining how this project started with a focus on 'pedagogical wellbeing': How can we embed wellbeing into all aspects of the student experience?
There is a distinction between mental health and wellbeing; Bridgette's sense of belonging project with @leedsteaching aims to respond to wellbeing concerns, but is also contextualised with the 'student mental health crisis'
Sense of belonging, in this context, is about being accepted, valued and included. It's also about support and respect for 'the individual'. Therefore, a key idea to this work is "the authentic self". How can we bring the various 'bits of ourself' to our work?
The core question: how can we (as educators) facilitate this sense of belonging? So far in the project, Dr Bewick has asked student participants (pre and during COVID) to explain what sense of belonging looks like at university
