Targets for reducing Wales’ greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and 2040 have increased to 63% and 89% resp which means that most of our emissions reductions need to happen in the next 15 years. This will call for bold and ambitious action.
Last week we stated that overall progress has been too slow with "significant challenges" ahead to meet targets. This commitment from @WelshGovernment is an opportunity for Wales to showcase progress in fighting climate change on a global platform. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-55904380
However, there is always more that can be done and in our Manifesto we are calling on the Government to continue this commitment of net zero by…

✨ Investing in responding to the Climate and Nature Emergency.
✨Investing in better ways to connect and move people through improving digital connectivity, active travel and public transport.

✨Developing an economic stimulus package that leads to job creation and supports the decarbonisation of homes.
✨Investing in skills and training to support the transition to a better future, creating new greener jobs.

✨Investing in the industries and technologies of the future, and support for businesses that will help Wales to lead the low carbon revolution.
And most importantly, be transparent in showing the carbon impact of all Government policies and spending decisions, so that we can all be held accountable for seeing net zero become a reality for current and future generations.
