Using Jamboard in the English classroom - a thread.
*Disclaimer* I'm still a relative newbie to using it & still have lots to learn but here are some really simple, yet effective, ways I've used it during the last week or so

1. Vocab. Read a passage from 'Dracula' with Yr9 that included unfamiliar vocab. 7 new words became 7 different slides. Pupils worked independently to find definitions & added these using sticky notes.
2. 'Romeo & Juliet' with Yr10: we were analysing Romeo's 'snowy dove' speech. Pupils had to find an example of simile, alliteration & sibilance & have a go at explaining effect. You can see how not all answers were correct so this allowed me to check & correct understanding.
3. Personal Writing conclusions with Yr12 Lang: after modelling, each pupil assigned a slide to type out their conclusion. I was able to correct, praise and give immediate feedback.
4. 'Blood Brothers' character essay prep with Yr12 Lit: pupils collated their quotations for Mrs J into an Agree/Disagree table. Each quotation was then discussed and analysed.
Whilst nothing can replace interaction in the physical classroom, I'd love to hear how you are trying to replicate those every-lesson interactions we have with our pupils.
