Interesting analysis by prominent al-Qaida writer Adnan Hadid on the US election and the far right evolution.
Hadid begins with the election of Trump 4 years ago, saying that when the result was clear opponents of Trump attempted to find loopholes to overturn the result. That didn't work, however, as the general attitude was to respect the democratic institutions of the state.
The 4 years of the Trump presidency, he writes, facilitated the rise of far right groups. Briefly going through the history of the KKK (these guys do their research!), he draws a connection between the KKK and contemporary groups.
Because of the 2nd amendment, these groups - following the doctrine of 'Trumpism' - have been allowed to turn into the greatest danger for the US' internal security, Hadid argues.
After Biden's clear victory, Trump decided to question the democratic foundation of the country. He rallied people to storm the capital, but they realised that the state is not yet weak enough for such a project to succeed. But as Hadid finishes: that project has just begun
