Bathua is a Saag which has been consumed by Indian families for many centuries. It's quite cheap so also known as Poor's food.

We all know that Saag are quite healthy food.

Let's look at few qualities of Bathua:
1- Bathua is warm in nature and hence consumed in winter to keep body warm and protected from cold.

2- Bathua is consumed either boiled as Saag or an veggies along with potatoes.
It is also consumed with lentils.
3- 100 gms of Bathua contains 7.3 gms carbs, 4.2 gms protein and 4 gms fibres.

4- Pregnant women are advised to take iron tablets. But, Bathua has everything required in it.

5- Bathua prevents kidney stones.
6- It is full of Vitamins like B, C and minerals like calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium and zinc.

7- Bathua also help in getting rid of worms in abdomen.

8- It is helpful in jaundice and skin disorders.
9- Bathua if taken with Sonth also helps the women who have irregular menstrual cycle.

10- Anemia patients are advised to take its juice regularly.
