Katsuki has a long distance friend who he confides in about the struggles of being college student, while simultaneously handling the people of the real world. Since when did strangers give good advice?
Katsuki Bakugou finds a friend of sorts in /Mightyman17. It’s a generic account name, but the user is anything but.
It’s a break from reality-
painstakingly boring, annoying reality. Dorm rooms and home games with extras he didn’t give two shits about.

Why bother? They’d only drag him down. He had friends he got along with fine from the hockey team, less than he could count on one hand. Did the perky cheerleader dating Shitty hair even count as a friend?
Depended on the day, and what she said when she opened her loud mouth.

The list of people Katsuki tolerated was limited.
The list of people who wanted to steal a moment of Katsuki’s attention was over triple the size. Like Pinky’s cheerleader friends asking for his number, or the losers barely struggling to pass Organic Chem begging for a study

partner. And then Deku, shitty Deku, who despite all odds against him SOMEHOW followed him to the same university? He was the most annoying and pathetic of them all.

peace and quiet after high school. No, Deku had to live three rooms down the hall from him because they had gotten in on the SAME scholarship.
How the useless little prick managed to do that? Katsuki didn’t know. But it pissed him off.

That night, Deku had been particularly frustrating. Shouto, Katsuki’s roommate and Deku’s friend, had invited the green fuck over to study in their dorm.
The two of them studying together? It was like a puppy talking to a brick except both of them were intelligent.

Katsuki had declined invitations to their study group offers a number of times. The thought of Deku mumbling his nonsense, trying to prove he was just as good, if not better, than him...
Yeah, fuck that. So study nights with Shouto and Deku were out of the equation.

Meaning his room was off limits if he wanted the tranquility he craved after a long day of classes and practice.
Shouto had texted him earlier on, so all he needed to do was snag a few books for his Sunday night date with the library when he caught Deku, unattended in his room.

What did he catch Deku doing?
Katsuki had walked in on Deku laying down in a bed. Not just any bed— HIS bed, with Shouto no where in sight. The brief instance he caught the nerd in his natural state, he seemed relaxed, face burrowed into HIS pillow.
The fall and rise of his chest made it seem as if the guy

had been sleeping, soft and rhythmic. And Katsuki would have believed it too if it wasn’t for the chaotic shuffle and twisting of Deku’s limbs upon hearing the door hitting the side of Shouto’s ill-placed dresser.
“What the fuck were you doing in my bed?” Katsuki hissed,
“What the fuck were you doing in my bed?” Katsuki hissed,
tugging his backpack off as if readying himself for a fight with the now standing Deku. Green eyes blinked, wide and nervous. Like he had been caught.
“Sorry, Kaachan,” Deku finally said, rubbing the back of his head, now an untamed mess of green curls. They were shorter now,

most of his hair’s mass sitting atop his head with shorter sides. It didn’t fit the awkward kid he left behind in high school. “I, well, I can’t explain...”

had left the room to take the call and I was just... in here by myself, and I didn’t get much sleep last night, right? Shouto’s bed was covered in our textbooks and notes and your bed looked SO soft. It was like it was calling my tired brain’s name and I was weak to ignore
the temptress which is your comforter and—“
“Forget I even asked, holy shit.” Katsuki rubbed between his brows. “Out.”

moment he found his roommate’s guest snuggled up in his sheets, nose face first and huffing his... head sweat? Whatever.
“Can I just wait until—“

these stupid study sessions more closely, or nix his room altogether. Deku frantically shoved papers and textbooks into a backpack two shades darker than his hair, and left the room with a couplet of apologies.

disgruntled sigh. Taking a few minutes to let his anger blow off him like rising steam, he turned to his bag and pulled out his phone.

but Katsuki would deny it if someone asked.)
dynamight: fuck, are you online?

What does Katsuki say to MM17?
dynamight: hear me out. Do you know how to get away with murder?
Katsuki watched as the mightyman’s name popped up at the bottom of screen, typing... a feeling of relief washed over him for a split second. Before he found himself grounded in reality as the door swung open.

Shouto entered with a curious look, presumably done with his call. “Where’s Izuku?” He asked Katsuki, who leaned back in his desk chair to give Shouto a once over.
“Dunno. Keep better track of your friends.”
“Did you kick him out? We talked about this.” Shouto sighed.

Katsuki waved his hand dismissively, ignoring Shouto as he gathered his things and started dialing out to presumably Deku.
He turned his attention back to the screen, a barrage of new messages filtering through. The corner of his lips upturned into the slightest of smiles.

Katsuki chucked, warranting a look over from Shouto as he readied himself to leave. People should mind their damn business, that’s what he thought.
dynamight: slow your roll, Zu. I haven’t killed anyone. Yet.

Katsuki waited for an answer, impatient as he watched the username pop up and down multiple times. Mightyman17, went by Gi in the server, had been
an unlikely friend. Katsuki had joined the All Might server a few months back after a mindless scroll through the blackhole of his Twitter. He became a member and a silent observer, interacting with emotes here or there but never contributing to conversations.
Most of them were dull, or obsessive rants of major fanboys. Every so often a good thread would pop up or a meme that made him crack a smile, and he found most of those posts were from long time member Gi.
Gi was weird, awkward, and overly animated in the chat rooms.

But Katsuki couldn’t deny their shared sense of humor and interests. He could hold an intelligent conversation with Gi, which was proven when Katsuki finally started interacting with words instead of merely reactions.
One DM later, and the rest was history.
mightyman17: what was he doing there?
What a short message for the time it took for Gi to write it.
dynamight: sniffing my sheets or something? Sleeping? Who the fuck knows. It was weird.
