Something I found intriguing from this weekend's round of PL fixtures were:
1. McCarthy's mistake against Newcastle
2. Alisson's two mistakes against City
3. Rudiger's/Mendy's mix up against SHU.
All a product of more progressive football.
No more "if in doubt, boot it out."

Though all were arguably avoidable errors and, for the record, I am not trying to draw negative attention/embarrass any of these players.
It's just intriguing that the first thought in each case was the need to recycle possession, rather than avoid danger and clear the ball.

Goes to show how much more progressive (arguably) the game has become and the risks that this inevitably entails.
I'm very much in favour of the current state of the game.
It's more entertaining but, for a manager, it must be so tough to strike a balance of play & protection.
