You know what's sexist? Describing a woman-led government as the ex you broke up with who maybe wasn't so bad. The problems are so numerous I don't even know where to start.

But I can say the men are rarely, if ever, framed in conjugal terms.

I expect better from @sprawlcalgary https://twitter.com/klaszus/status/1358915287995719680
I am going to try with a list, but I'm pretty sure I'll miss a few. Feel free to add you own.

1) Crazy ex-girlfriend trope lurking in the background
2) Convenient omission re: gendered violence directed at many women in the Notley government, and the connection between violence against women and their conjugal partners
3) Asking for perfection from HER when the standard applied in evaluating the current government is decidedly lower
4) There's an analysis in here re: consent and public consultation, and how that gets complicated/ignored when we talk about women-led governments as exes we wish he hadn't dumped
I'm going to stop because it makes me SO ANGRY that this is the level of discourse we STILL see about women politicians in 2021.

It's LAZY AF.
I gotta say, @sprawlcalgary, this makes me want to take back my monthly donation. You don't get to be all "we need more women in politics" one day and then wax poetic about how those women are like your ex the next.

Do better. FFS.
