Most of the notable remaining free agents are relievers. One thing to keep in mind as those pitchers find homes is roster construction/optionality, since teams always want the ability to sub in a fresh arm without consequence.
The Reds, for example, are projected to have seven relievers in their bullpen without options, per FanGraphs. The Mets could have six. It’s going to be difficult for those teams to add another immovable arm, even if they consider them an upgrade.
On the flip side, Cleveland/Brewers might have one apiece, while the Rays and the White Sox may have two. You have to think at least one of those teams (Tampa Bay has been looking) will take advantage of their inherent bullpen flexibility in the coming weeks.
The Giants had three immovable relievers. McGee makes it four. (Assuming Rule 5 pick Dedniel Núñez doesn't stick, otherwise add one to each count.)
The Blue Jays also had three. Phelps makes it four.
