Very difficult to focus on work knowing there's a dedicated bike path that runs uninterrupted from Pittsburgh to D.C.
Even though it cuts through mountains, it runs along an old rail line and then a decommissioned canal, so the steepest grade is 1.75%. Compare that to the Southern Walnut Crick Trail's mildly challenging 6%.
Unfortunately no Bucc-ees along the way. Just tons of tiny villages, trailside bars, campsites, waterfalls, fishing spots, and few boring sites like Antietam and Harper's Ferry.
Disgusting.
Texas is the state where you can legally shoot pigs from a helicopter and beer companies customize their labels for us, but wouldn't it be swell if we had an all-ages-and-abilities hike n' bike trail connecting Pace Bend to Surfside?
Anyway, learn more here and let us all weep together as one: https://gaptrail.org/
