I'm reviewing resumes again for another full-time developer hire and I'm noticing a lot of the same work across portfolios, especially for newer devs.

A few thoughts:

There's absolutely nothing wrong with including work from a bootcamp or coding course in your portfolio, especially since it's all you may have. But I'd love to see some more info around it. "Hangman Game" is a very common one to see. Tell me what you learned while building this!
Have prototypes that aren't actually live websites? That's totally fine as well, but I'd like to know that it's just a prototype as opposed to a live site so when I try to visit it I understand why I'm seeing what I'm seeing.
Lastly, if you can open-source the code, link to the project on Github! I love seeing how you built something and how you approached a particular piece of the work.
When I'm reviewing applications, I don't care how you learned or where you learned - I want to know what you built, what you learned, what interests you, and your thought process.
