Tom Brady's greatest asset has ALWAYS been respecting the art of Super Bowl roster-building. He learned it from Belichick, honored it and remembered it when he picked his new team. The Bucs strengths coming out of 2019 were their defense (top 5 in DVOA) and offensive line. https://twitter.com/ESPNStatsInfo/status/1358617800646950913
A lot of people are going to tell you this week and this offseason that Brady magically turned the Bucs into winners. That's not what happened, and it undermines what actually makes him special -- he knew the Bucs had all the pieces in place that he needed to get them to the SB.
No other player sees the chess board the way he does, and of course it's even more obvious in hindsight. He's as skilled a leader and mind as there has ever been at the position, and it's about time we realize just how powerful that really is in this game.
