MSNBC is doing a thing where they show different moms who are overwhelmed during the pandemic. They are showing these mothers and their need for a break as a way to convince people that we need to open everything back up, including schools. This is propaganda.
These women wouldn’t be overwhelmed if the US would have handled this the way every other country has. Opening up schools isn’t the answer to overwhelmed and isolated parents. How will they feel when their kid is dead? Also, why the f are schools used as daycares?
The answer is- the government has no problem sacrificing human lives for “tHe eConOmy” and those lives include children. MSNBC is well aware of the messaging this does. It’s propaganda and it’s gross. Not once do they mention this would all be over with a 4-6 week lockdown.

I want to reiterate that my criticism was not toward the mothers, at all. My criticism and anger is toward the media and govt. I used MSNBC as an example, but it’s all MSM. I am aware how hard this is for parents, I am a mom too.

I am also an RN and I am terrified of what covid is doing. There is still so much we don’t know about this virus. It’s not simply a respiratory virus, it damages the neuro system as well. We do not know the long-term effects of covid yet, we now have 4 strains, 4K deaths/day.
I am afraid that we are becoming numb to mass death. I’m afraid we have normalized this pandemic and the response. NONE of this is normal. Teachers shouldn’t have to risk their lives to do their job, and it infuriates me that they are expected to do so.
Death is permanent & no parent wants to lose a child. That’s a pain that doesn’t heal. I know someone that lost a child to covid, someone I loved. Someone that was a major part of my life. I wouldn’t wish this pain on my worst enemy.
So please understand my criticism comes from a place full of pain and compassion. I don’t want anyone to lose their child. I don’t want any child to lose their parent or siblings. I don’t want any more teachers to die. People should not be dying for the economy.
There is 0 reason why the US cannot implement measures taken in other countries. We deserve better, & I want people to realize that. We need a national lockdown (a real one). Pay people to stay home. Nationalize some factories to mass produce N95’s and distribute to the people.
The National Guard can administer vaccines. These are all things that can be done. We are the only developed country not paying people to stay home, and yet talking about opening schools while the pandemic is out of control. Enough!
Solidarity to all parents/all primary caregivers, teachers, nurses, and of course the children (our future). Nobody should risk their life for capitalism.
