Tw/dean & cas death
I wanna talk about the complete erasure of the confession scene & Cas himself from the finale & the unnecessary killing of dean and how jensen & misha were silenced by the network inspired by @CasIsLoved twt. 1/14

We know that misha fought for queer!cas for years. The empty deal was made in early s14. Which means they had been planning on making Dean Cas'true happiness. They've been planning to make deancas canon since as early as s14. They just kept it a secret. 2/14
When they told misha, he obviously would've been happy. He loved the scene so much that he couldn't keep his cas voice while acting it out. but soon after that, he called it bury your gays. Which means knows all about the harmful tropes Hollywood uses. 3/14
Which also means that if he knew they were going to bury cas, he wouldn't have approved of his coming out at all. He knows what it means to queer fans. He'd rather have cas stay in the closet rather than have him erased right after coming out. The og plan was def diff. 4/14
Now to jensen- he was only told 3 months prior to the scene. In fact, if he hadn't approved of it, they wouldn't have greenlighted it. Which means jensen was completely on board. One thing we all know about jensen is that he's v v protective of his friends, especially misha 5/14
He has always protected misha on set when a lot of cast & crew members have mistreated him. If he was told about cas' confession scene, he would've been told about what happens after. There's no way he would've approved of the scene if it meant that cas wasn't going to be- 6/14
In any episodes after it. And I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have approved it even if misha was only returning as jimmy novak. Also, even though we don't know whether he wanted dean to reciprocate or not, he still wouldn't be on board w the fact that dean just completely- 7/14
Forgets about cas. In no narrative does it make sense. So the original plan (and NOT even the Jimmy Novak one) was definitely meant to be sth different. Whether they intended to make dean reciprocate or not, they still didn't intend to completely erase cas. 8/14
Whatever it was, we will never know cause then the network interfered. Jensen had refused walker. They wanted views for the show. S/pn was going to be over soon. Who cares whatever they do in the finale? Plus c/w knew about the insane amount of following deancas had. 9/14
If the writers had made deancas canon bothways, it would've completely taken the attention off sam(who was already getting neglected by the writers). My theory is that when jensen learned about dean not reciprocating, he got pissed. He was so excited about the confession- 10/14
Why wouldn't he want dean to say it back? Or at least have SOME reaction to it other than one crying scene. He may have got into a fight with the network, who were already pissed at him(for refusing walker), so they decided to punish him by k*lling his character off 11/14
The network knew that jensen/dean brings the most views, both by bibros & hellers. So however pissed they were at him before, they didn't touch his character, they let dean take the limelight all the time. 12/14
And then the show was ending. So they thought, killing dean now won't do us any harm anymore. Who cares how many people it pisses off? They've already made money off it as much as they could. 13/14
And thus, jensen was treated the same way they've always treated misha. And both of them AND their characters were silenced by the network. I don't believe it's the writers fault. They can be blamed for queerbaiting, etc but even they never intended to completely erase cas 14/14
