"There was a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes ... the result of an informal alliance between left-wing activists and business titans."
"...touched every aspect of the election. They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding. They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote..."
"a well-funded cabal of powerful people ... working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information. They were not rigging the election; they were fortifying it."
Allow me to voice my disagreement. Discussion definitely beats shutting people down. What kind of madman would claim "removing" the views of others is a way forward for democracy?!
This is core: "Podhorzer, meanwhile, was warning everyone he knew that polls were underestimating Trump’s support." This is a problem "for democracy" how? Because, the conspiracy apparently agreed, it's not democratic if the people vote for the wrong guy. 🤷‍♂️
The ending gives insight into the egos of these reporters: "Democracy won in the end. The will of the people prevailed. But it’s crazy, in retrospect, that this is what it took to put on an election in the United States of America."
If you read this article and see nothing wrong, you've got your head in the sand. This is outrageous. And bragging about it is even worse. (No, sorry, you can't dismiss me by asserting I'm a Trump supporter, because I'm definitely not.)
