Today's thread is dedicated to the goal-scoring machine that is Kerry Dixon.
This is a daily thread celebrating the great Chelsea players we were blessed with before Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2003.

Born in sunny Luton in 1961, Kerry started out at Tottenham Hotspur. We won't dwell on that unfortunate fact though as Kerry would enjoy spells with @cheshamutdfc and Dunstable before being signed by @ReadingFC. He would score 51 goals in 116 apps for the Royals.
Now for the good bit as former owner Ken Bates would eventually agree to sign Kerry for a fee potentially rising to ÂŁ175,000 in 1983. Kerry inevitably scored two goals on his debut against Derby County and never looked back! He would secure us promotion with 34 goals this year.
In the top flight, Dixon continued his hot form and would finish as joint top-scorer with @GaryLineker with 24 goals as we would finish a credible 6th place. Kerry would continue to score regularly for the mighty blues for many years to come.
Things seemed to slow a little for Kerry following a stomach muscle injury and we were unfortunately relegated to Division 2. This however sparked an upturn in form for our main man as he scored 25 goals to take us back up at the first attempt.
Of course the goals kept flowing for Kerry back in the top flight with 26 goals in the first season back at the top. Kerry would move to @SouthamptonFC in 1992 having scored 192 goals for @ChelseaFC. This record was only bettered by two men; Bobby Tambling and Frank Lampard!
Thank you for taking the time to read this short thread about our legendary striker @Real_KerryDixon. Be sure to follow the great man if you don't already.
