This veto override is being discussed right now in the Senate. http://iga.in.gov/legislative/2021/senate https://twitter.com/kaitlin_lange/status/1358843595365695489
The Republicans' plan is to override the veto, and later nix the part that says it applies to "any other aspects of the landlord-tenant relationship" using a trailer bill.
It's worth noting though, that language is one really small part of the controversial language. Page 8 of the enrolled act lists other things that cities would still be prohibited from doing: http://iga.in.gov/legislative/2020/bills/senate/148#document-34b1551f
Sen. Becker said she talked to the gov’s office today. She said his office said he was concerned about this enrolled act even if the trailer bill goes through.
Sen. Becker, a Republican, is getting real. "I am so tired of Marion County sticking its nose legislatively into places... because they don't like what the Democratic City County Council does."
The trailer bill language doesn't appear to be posted anywhere right now.
The Senate votes to override Holcomb's veto by a 30-17 vote. The House still gets a say too.
