A tiny thread of wonderful folks in games.
1. Julia Ellingboe aka @QueenOvPirates . Her games list is long and amazing and she is a true artist, but Julia also helped to make the first Iftar I have ever celebrated in a games space. She is a wonderful role model and creator.
Laura Simpson @labmouse, is known for her amazing game Companion's Tale. However you should also know her because her work in the hashtag feminism collective. Driving to Reunion is a brilliant intergenerational game about Black women coming home from a reunion. Brilliant.
@BGGameWorks is obviously a whole deal as well. Besides New Agenda Publishing and her Afrofuturist setting of Orun, Misha has been nurturing and mentoring designers and providing critical love and support in our community. Like Julia and Laura, Misha is a pillar.
@GoblinPrincete aka Jabari Weathers is an illustrator AND designer. You'll know them from many project's from the 7th Sea Sorte Deck to Bluebeard's Bride Tarot of the Servants. However, Jabari is not just an illustrator but also a game designer whose work is delightful.
