It’s a form of malpractice to apply one’s authority or credentialing from one area to another. Even if tempting, intellectual scholarship requires that we say something is out of the scope of our discipline and or understanding.
Try:
“What I have to say next is simply an opinion -hopefully a seasoned one but nevertheless an opinion.”

Better yet ...
“Here are some names of individuals who study this topic.”

“ let’s read about that together and later discuss”
Guard your credibility by being slow to speak in general but specifically in areas outside of your discipline.

Don’t expect a medical doctor to know how to fix your car’s engine.
We must examine our own biases when we extend credibility without competence.
By the way, few things are more freeing than humility. Why would I know what I don’t know?

Pretending to know when we don’t, actually limits our ability to learn and discern.
