#Gophers regents get a glimpse of the budget for the UMN athletics Thursday. The statement shows $119M in revenue (down from $130M) and $125M in expenses (down from $129M). School has reduced debt from $154M to $142M -- although they will likely need a budget balancing loan.
These numbers are through June 30 of last year -- there were coaches who took pay reductions in April as an effort offsetting some anticiapted losses, the salary expense line item across all sports still grew from $22.273M to $23.455M.
Football ticket revenues were up to $13.4 M from $9.4M, but revenue for MBB and other men's sports (MHky) fell from $9M to $6.8M during the shortened season.
Media rights, NCAA distribution and B10 Conference distributions are one of the big buckets for revenue and they fell from $58.6M to $47.9M mainly due to cancelling March Madness.
