1) I count myself as a @springsteen fan, but I'm 100% with @FrankConniff here. A) So disappointing to see Bruce doing an ad (outside of marketing for his own music, he hasn't done it before. B) I'm not meeting QAnoners who embrace lies and/or domestic terrorism in the middle. https://twitter.com/FrankConniff/status/1358628347815804931
2) Unity doesn't mean letting dangerous thinking run rampant, social norms get demolished and encouragement of violence be shrugged off.
3) In terms of both ideology and economic policy, what's considered "the middle" has become more center-right or just plain right going back to Reagan. Some social issues aside, liberalism is often viewed as quaint at best, radical at worst because of it being defined by the 1%.
4) Why does "the middle" have to be a church? While I respect anyone's faith, as we've seen during COVID, those who take their faith as law instead of personal principle are willing to put others at risk and damn the consequences. That's not "the middle." That's extremism.
5) Lastly, I know "selling out" is no longer considered a bad thing, but I'm old school and this sucks. This WP op-ed piece sums it up. Bad call, @springsteen. https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/music/springsteen-sells-out-jeep-ad-superbowl/2021/02/07/b9bd1fa0-6986-11eb-9ead-673168d5b874_story.html
