With 2015 not being best of years for Kohli he scored mere 14 in only test vs Bangladesh and 200 runs in SA series at home at 33.33. Kohli scored his 11th century when India toured Sri Lanka .

However as skipper Captain Kohli flourished winning his first ever test series as skipper in SL and then raising up to second position in rankings by defeating SA 3-0

ANTIGUA 2016:
Virat Kohli scored his first double ton in tests when India toured the Caribbean Land in 2016 . It was not only his first first class 200 but also the first by an Indian Skipper outside Asia

2016 Virat Kohli's form peaked as he scored double tons in four consecutive series against West Indies , Newzealand, England and Bangladesh(feb 2017) as he broke record of most 200s in consecutive series previously held by Dravid and Don Bradman (3 each)
