Over the last two months I have spoken to many hundreds of members of our Scottish Labour Party. Over the last two weeks I have listened to both candidates asking to be leader. I have decided to vote for @AnasForLeader. 1/6
Here’s why I think he will deliver what members want:
Here’s why I think he will deliver what members want:
1. A clear position on the constitution. Members are desperate for us to have solid ground to stand on and a story they can tell to friends and on the doorstep. Anas’s position is by far the most coherent. It makes sense. It also happens to be right. 2/6
2. Our party machine is not functioning. Members across the party can see it and feel it. Our organisation needs to be run professionally. Anas has set out a plan to sort out the mess. 3/6
3. Members want a strong party defined by our values not by the attacks of our opponents. There is a softness in our party that wants to be liked by the SNP in parliament rather than respected by the public. Anas has shown the strength of his convictions time and again. 4/6
4. Anas has the confidence of his colleagues in Parliament. He has the overwhelming backing of those he seeks to lead. This is beyond vital. They have worked with both candidates and they believe Anas is the best choice do the job. 5/6
5. There has not been a huge divergence in policy offering between the two candidates. The question here is of character and competence. So if it comes to that, then this is the most compelling testimony in the contest:
If you agree with me that our party needs to get off the carpet then please vote for Anas and do what you can to help him be elected. https://shr.link/pc1wx
